THE BOOK IN JAN VAN DER TOGT MUSEUM PERMANENT COLLECTION
Our very own “Book” among the masterpieces at the Jan Van der Togt Museum in Amsterdam.
“Book” is a solid wood bookcase with chequered doors, our company’s icon product: Woody Allen was so impressed by it he included it in “Manhattan”, one of his most famous films.
IFT and the Milanese artist Titti Fabiani, who created this masterpiece of design, were rewarded recently with an international acknowledgement that represents an authentic rarity in this industry: Book is to be exhibited as part of the permanent collection at the Jan Van der Togt Museum in Amsterdam, which houses sculptures and works from the greatest contemporary artists.
This just goes to show how, even in such dire economic circumstances, the prestige of Italian art and creativity are the focus of international cultural interest.
The “Book” bookcase was designed by Titti Fabiani in 1969 and it was an immediate success, remaining popular to this day, despite the countless yet unsuccessful attempts at copying it.
